Anonymous asked: This is going to sound insane but hear me out: what if one of you lovely mods sent an email tochris sanders or anyone that worked on lilo+stitch askingif all those jumba+pleakley moments were hinting at beingthe real deal. I think we all need that closure messagefrom one of the people involved that everyone lived happily ever after :x
This is your Mod J speaking.
Hate to sound blunt, but absolutely not. It’s not really wise or respectful to bother writers/creators about their characters that they wrote a specific way. We as fans can ship characters and accept that our ships may or may not be canon.
Whether or not rumors of intentional subtext are true, I didn’t make this blog to cater to only those who ship the two, I made the blog for everyone who likes the characters in general to enjoy. Not everyone ships a ship. Some people dislike it. And that’s okay. That’s their choice.
That’s why I include a lot of solo/singular posts with them and balance it out with some posts of them together, and not all of them contain shipping subtext.
I can see that your intentions are good, really, but it’s not worth pursuing. Just enjoy shipping because you enjoy it, not because you want it to be canon.
ETA: TL;DR: Contacting writers about shipping is very much toeing a line. Would not recommend.
THIS IS SO IMPORTANT FOR EVERY FANDOM
As someone who creates a comic and has received, on several occasions, emails from readers requesting validation of relationships they “ship,” or demanding future storytelling be adjusted towards verifying it (considerably more of the latter, really), yeah - DON’T DO THAT.
